The story behind TruthHire

For over a decade in talent acquisition, I watched a pattern repeat across startups: founders hire someone “smart on paper,” it doesn’t work out, the team drains for 6 months trying to make it work, then a difficult exit. The resume was right. The human wasn’t.

From my Global Talent Acquisition role at scale, I saw the same pattern from a different angle. International clients would source through cookie-cutter recruitment agencies and the same models kept failing: retainer-based agencies optimize for placement volume not quality, cost-arbitrage offshoring optimizes for cheapest English-speaker not the right human. The system was broken on both sides — buyer side AND candidate side. So I built the hiring systems myself — sourcing strategy, interview frameworks, onboarding flows. I also consulted on the side with startup founders who wanted their own hiring pipelines audited and fixed. Same broken patterns showed up everywhere. Those systems and lessons became the foundation for TruthHire.

In 2025, I started TruthHire — quietly, by referral, serving a small network of US, UK, and Australian founders within my circle. We proved the model works: vet for mindset and work ethics first, charge a flat fee, tell prospects honestly when AI is the better answer. Every placement stuck.

Today, in 2026, we’re opening that same service publicly online — for serious founders who want a partner, not a sales floor. TruthHire is young as a public company. The methodology behind it isn’t.
