The story behind TruthHire

For over a decade in talent acquisition, I watched a pattern repeat across startups: founders hire someone “smart on paper,” it doesn’t work out, the team drains for 6 months trying to make it work, then a difficult exit. The resume was right. The human wasn’t.

From my Global TA Manager role, I saw the same pattern from a different angle — we’d source talent for international clients, and the same hiring agencies kept failing in the same ways. Retainer-based agencies optimize for placement volume, not placement quality. Cost-arbitrage offshoring optimizes for the cheapest English-speaker, not the right human. The system was broken on both sides.

In 2025, I started TruthHire — quietly, by referral, serving a small network of US, UK, and Australian founders within my circle. We proved the model works: vet for mindset and work ethics first, charge a flat fee, tell prospects honestly when AI is the better answer. Every placement stuck.

Today, in 2026, we’re opening that same service publicly online — for serious founders who want a partner, not a sales floor. TruthHire is young as a company. The methodology behind it isn’t.
